A brand can take many forms, including a name, sign, symbol, colour combination or slogan. The word ‘brand’ began simply as a way to tell one person’s cattle from another by means of a hot iron stamp. A legally protected brand name is called a registered trademark. The word brand has continued to evolve to encompass identity – in effect the personality of a product, company or service.

The challenge for this project was to design an eye-catching corporate brand identity for an annual event in the RDS, where people can buy, try & test all the products associated with being a mother, all under one roof.

As Ireland’s Pregnancy and Baby Fair offers amazing shopping, expert advice and professional services the brand identity had to appeal to its target audience — mothers & expectant mothers.

The conference, entitled “Working Together Towards a Tobacco Free Society”, was organised by the joint agencies of ASH Ireland, the Environmental Health Officers’ Association, the Health Service Executive, the Irish Cancer Society, the Irish Heart Foundation, the Irish Thoracic Society, the National Cancer Control Programme and the TobaccoFree Research Institute, together with Pfizer Healthcare Ireland. It featured a wide range of Irish and international guest speakers on tobacco control.

Typographically, “Working Together Towards a Tobacco Free Society” became the core focus of the brand identity for this conference. The brand we created shaped a positive vision for the future, exploited vibrant colours to illustrate a clean environment and gave visual recognition to all branded conference materials. Printed promotional materials were also developed as part of this campaign and supported by digital media at the conference.

drawinginc were given the opportunity to come up with a diverse promotional campaign for National Radio Cabs. Our client requested a fresh new look to strengthen their brand in a competitive marketplace.

Taxi drivers hear all sorts of stories, and we wanted to push these stories to the limit. We focused on imagery depicting real-life quirky situations. Taglines featured alongside the imagery injected a sense of humour into the campaign and encouraged people to notice the NRC brand. The campaign included TV, radio and print advertisements, banners, car wraps and promotional emails targetting the corporate and public sectors. The NRC television advert aimed to promote NRC as a reliable & superior taxi company incorporating their round-the-clock service and laser/debit card payment facilitiy. The advert was aired on both 3e & Setanta Sports and can be viewed below.

A new book is set to become a bible for every GAA club in the capital — helping confused supporters make their way to games on time.

The new Where’s The Match? gives detailed directions to every Gaelic football, hurling, ladies football and camogie club in Dublin.

Fingallians GAA club in Swords teamed up with transition-year students Kadee Morgan, Orlaith Power and Gemma Whelan to produce the booklet.

The students spotted that GAA clubs often have their grounds located some distance away from their clubhouses. And supporters eager to see their club play away from home often have to negotiate the streets and roundabouts of the city before they can find the playing pitch.

The Herald has sponsored the book, which contains maps and written directions to all of the GAA pitches in Dublin. Stephen Rae, Editor of the Evening Herald, said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Where’s The Match book. It’s truly innovative and makes the busy lead up to any game less stressful. It will be a great aid for any coach, parent, club or school.”

drawinginc was approached with the idea, and the challege was to deliver the end product that was simple to follow, giving written directions, an ordnance survey map and satellite navigation co-ordinates for each club. The end result is informative, impactful and distinctive.

Established in 1957, National Radio Cabs have been at the forefront of the taxi industry, and is certainly the largest taxi company in Ireland today.

The brief was to reflect and deliver a new website to meet and exceed their position within this industry.

From the start we invested time in determining the best way of presenting the commercial aspects of this site such as allowing customers to open an account online, or to “log into” their account system if they were existing customers. Next we worked closely on the development of a content management system. We kept the navigation simple, which was key to the design. Throughout the website, we encouraged the call to action, by promoting the telephone number. An ongoing email campaign encourages an immediate drive to book online. The results of this project has increased traffic to the website.
